Chelsea to Become Champions Next Year?

After Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea suffered their latest setback against Bournemouth on Saturday, a new perspective emerged on the internet about how Chelsea to become champions next year.

Instead of commenting the news, let’s just face the theory:

Of course it is about the Championship, and it seems that Chelsea actually do everything in order to get engaged in the relegation battle as much as it is possible. Chelsea to become champions in the English second-flyer looks funny know, but if they don’t change something in the coming months, it will become even stickier towards May. They are currently 201.00 (200/1) to relegate at the end of the season at Bet365 Sportsbook.

Though Mourinho was previously confirmed as the Blues manager until the end of the season, gambling news reported that if they would eliminate from the Champions League against Porto on Wednesday, Roman Abramovich would instantly sack his friend. Or let say, “Relieve him from his duties”.

The Week in Pictures: November 17 – November 23, 2015

Nov 25, 2015

Weekly news in pictures

There were some huge news stories that broke last week so lets quickly review some of the most important to his the headlines.

A terrorist attack on the luxury Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, capital of Mali, left at least 19 dead last week. The dead included an American, an Israeli, three Chinese, six Russians, two Belgians and witnesses report numerous members of the hotel’s security staff were killed when the dozen or so attackers struck using a car featuring diplomatic plates. Both Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and al-Murabitoun claimed responsibility for the attack although authorities couldn’t confirm either claim.

Last week Anastasia Lin, the winner of Miss World Canada claimed she had been shut out of the finals of the Miss World contest by the hosts China for her outspoken stance on their record of human rights abuses and her defense of the Falun Gong who are deemed an illegal cult by the Chinese communist party. Without an official letter of invitation, which other finalists received in late October, she is unable to apply for the necessary visa. Miss World Canada said it would not provide a replacement.

A massive manhunt continued across Belgium last week as authorities sought the armed-and-dangerous Salah Abdeslam amidst intelligence reports that indicated an imminent threat of attack. Brussels, the capital, remained under lockdown for several days with residents told to avoid crowds, the city’s metro closed down and soldiers patrolling the streets. Many European capitals remain on a high state of alert following the attacks perpetrated in Paris on Friday the 13th that left 130 dead and hundreds injured.

In sport Chelsea took an hour to get the only goal scored in their Premier League fixture with Norwich giving them a much needed win in a week that saw Jose Mourinho claim that reaching the top of the table was “Mission Impossible” and that “Maybe Tom Cruise can do it, but it’s complicated.” Will the diminutive Hollywood star give up his career to manage the London side? You’ll have to read our daily news pages to find out, but in the meantime he’s a look at some of the big stories we covered last week.

1. Holly Holm landed a big punch on sportsbooks with her UFC 193 KO win against Rousey.

2. Royal Panda Casino paid out some big cash winnings for online casino players last weekend.

4. Numbers after week 11 of the 2015 NFL season suggested that this year could be the fourth straight record-breaking season for Vegas sportsbooks.

5. PokerStars produced its seventh millionaire through the random prize Million Dollar Sit and Go tournaments.

Meanwhile an audience member on the long running BBC television show Question Time asked why the media continued to associate mainstream Islam with the militant terrorists in ISIS by calling them Islamic State (given they’re neither Islamic nor a state) saying “If I call myself a zebra do you them refer to me as a zebra?” Many experts encourage the use of the term Daesh instead a pronunciation of the acronym that also sounds uncannily like “a bigot who imposes his views on others” instead.

This Week in Pictures: October 27 – November 2, 2015

Nov 03, 2015

Weekly news in pictures

There was a mass of breaking news stories last week so let’s look back at some of the biggest that made the headlines over the last seven days

The heavy metal band “Goodbye to Gravity” on stage at the popular “Colectiv Club” in Bucharest, Romania, last week used pyrotechnic effects that ignited parts of the club causing a fire that swept through the venue. Twenty nine people lost their lives, with that figure likely to rise, and a further 140 were hospitalized with smoke inhalation and severe burns. President of Romania, Klaus Johannis, has said safety regulations were ignored at the club and three days of mourning were held for the dead.

An airliner operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia, under the name Metrojet, broke up at high altitude over Egypt’s Sinai peninsula killing all 224 passengers and crew, all but three of whom were Russians. Islamic state linked militants have claimed responsibility for the loss of the aircraft that crashed on Saturday having departed the popular Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, however these claims were dismissed by authorities. Investigations into the cause of the Airbus 321’s crash continue.

The ruling AKP, Justice & Development Party, in Turkey gained back the majority in parliament it had lost back in June when elections were held last week. The AKP of current president Recep Tayyip Erdogan won 316 seats with 49.4% of the vote leaving main opposition party, the CHP, to garner only 25.4%. The HDP, a pro-Kurdish party, and the MHP, a nationalist party, both won enough of the vote to take their seats in the Ankara parliament, but overall the result was a big win for Erdogan’s government.

In sport the position of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was once more called into question after his side lost against Liverpool 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, their sixth league defeat in 11 games. Although it is likely Mourinho will cling on for now just how much time can he have left if he can’t get results? You’ll have to read our daily news pages to find out, but in the meantime here’s a look at some of the important stories from around the world that we covered over the last week.

1.Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are once again the favourites to win the FIFA Balon d’Or award.

2.Lewis Hamilton secured his 3rd Formula One World Championship title, but his teammate was frustrated with the result.

5.A player placed a NZD 400,000 wager on the All Blacks beating Australia in the 2015 Rugby World Cup final.

Meanwhile a book mix up left hundreds of copies of “Little Red Riding Hood Eats The Wolf” recalled by authorities from primary schools across Chile. The book, a collection of short erotic stories by Pilar Quintana had been confused with the classic children’s fairy tale despite containing sexual and violent content. “I’m surprised people are shocked about the sexual content of the book.” Said the bemused author who went on to say he felt it was not inappropriate reading material for young people.

The week in pictures: August 25 – August 31, 2015

Sep 03, 2015

Weekly news in pictures

Given there were just so many big news stories to hit the headlines last week perhaps we should have another look at the most important from the last seven days

Reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, both of WDBJ-TV were shot and killed Wednesday by disgruntled former employee Vester Lee Flanagan II (aka Bryce Williams) during a live on-air interview with Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director Vicki Gardner. Both Mz. Parker and Mr. Ward were killed, Mz. Gardner suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was hospitalized. Flanagan was sought by police but later died from self-inflicted gunshots.

In Austria an abandoned vehicle on the nation’s A4 motorway, just between Parndorf and Neusiedl, was discovered to contain the dead bodies of 71 migrants fleeing the warzones of the Middle East. With 59 men, 8 women, 3 boys under ten and a baby girl of no more than two years of age, the group is likely to have traveled from Syria, Afghanistan or Iraq. Investigations by authorities into their deaths led to four arrests, three Bulgarians and an Afghan, in neighboring Hungary where the vehicle was registered.

Mohamed Fahmy, Peter Greste and Baher Mohamed, all employees of the news network Al-Jazeera were each sentenced to three years in jail last week accused by Egypt’s ruling military as having operated without a license, broadcasting false reports and colluding with the Muslim Brotherhood. This was seen as yet another attempt by the Army to stifle free speech in the aftermath of their power grab in July 2013 when they seized power from Mohamed Morsi Egypt’s first democratically elected president.

In sport Jose Mourinho’s 100th home league game in charge of Chelsea ended in defeat after Crystal Palace put two past the blues. Palace took the lead early in the second half through Sako with Falcao answering a quarter of an hour later but it was Ward who scored two minutes later to seal the win for Palace. Will Chelsea bounce back from this ghastly loss? You’ll have to read our daily news pages to find out. In the meantime here’s a look at some of the big stories we covered over the last seven days.

1. Pedro has left Barcelona with a blue heart, but was happy to join a strong and ambitious team like FC Chelsea.

2. Our intention was to sum up the first round of the Liga BBVA and tell more about the expectations in connection with the greatest derby of La Liga’s second round.

3. We collected the most interesting football transfer rumours in connection with the most important European clubs.

4. The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe received a letter in which they were explained that the regulatory body will decide about their USD 500 million casino project in 30 days.

Meanwhile in Poland the deputy culture minister, Piotr Zuchowski, confirmed that ground-penetrating radar images did seem to show the existence of a hidden armored train dating back to the second world war that is said to have been concealed as the Nazis fled the Red Army in 1945. Reputed to house a cargo of looted art and gold bullion the authorities will now undertake to recover the train that was only found after the deathbed confession of a man involved in the operation to hide it in the first place.

Pedro has left his home team FC Barcelona after spending his entire life in the capital of Catalonia. He has been member of the first squad since 2008 and has been an important member of the squad, even though he was substitute for the past few years.

Now he became the new member of José Mourinho’s men, and the British media is extremely thrilled about this deal. Several gambling sites believe Pedro’s signature was a great capture for the London-based side, while others believe Chelsea needs other reinforcements as well.

The Guardian:Pedro’s brilliance cannot blind José Mourinho to the case against his defence

Online gambling news in the United Kingdom report that José Mourinho is extremely happy with his new player. Pedro strengthens the squad of Chelsea greatly in the attacking third, even though the team needs reinforcement in the defensive line as soon as possible as the transfer window is about to shut down until January.

Pedro has already made his debut in the London-based side and he scored a goal and assisted in his very first match for his new club. He seems to have adapted immediately at the Blues thanks to reuniting with his previous teammate at the Catalan side, CescFabregas, who left Barcelona for Chelsea, just like Pedro did.

Rumours believed that Pedro was wanted by both Manchester-based sides however he chose the Premier League title holders instead of the Red Devils or the Citizens. Pedro said the main reason behind his decision was Mourinho, who personally convinced him to join Chelsea.

The Portuguese manager did not fail to praise his new player after his fantastic debut against West Bromwich Albion. He said there are doubts towards many players whether or not they will be able to adapt to their new clubs, however there was no question in Pedro’s abilities as he is a very good player who was sure to perform well.

Pedro not only managed to be the main figure in setting up a goal and scoring the other one himself, but he also showed how a motivated football player looks like. He attacked the ball whenever it was possible, by fighting for every ball and tried to make the best out of every situation that arose in front of him.

His wished to collect and possess the ball at all times – facts that made him stand out in his debuting game in the Premier League. He played a creative, attractive style of football with which he was the best player in the attacking third of Chelsea. Further incredible performances are expected of the Catalan attacking midfielder.

The Guardian:Chelsea showed more interest than Manchester United or City, says Pedro

British gambling news also like to highlight the fact that Chelsea were not the only side to show interest in signing Pedro. The two Manchester-based teams, United as well as City were both keen on capturing the Catalan player, however eventually both Louis Van Gaal and Manuel Pellegrini respectively were left without him.

Pedro has held a press conference right after his presentation in his new club. During this conference he answered all questions posed by the journalists. They mainly asked him about the reasons why he chose Mourinho’s men while there were other clubs who would have liked to buy him as well.

The Spanish player replied that he knew about Manchester City’s and Manchester United’s willingness to sign him. However, he said that according to his opinion, the main reason behind his final decision was the fact that Chelsea showed more interest in his style of play and that is why he chose them.

Chelsea were the fastest club to make an official transfer offer for the 28-year-old player who is hungry for great victories. His ambitions are a match with the expectations of Mourinho’s men, whose main target for this season is to defend their Premier League championship in addition to show improvements in the Champions League as well.

Pedro also told reporters that he would have liked to stay at Barcelona and retire there, however he knows that football does not work that way. He signed a 4-year contract in June because he enjoyed his life in Catalonia, but later on he admitted that his situation would not change and needed to find a new club in order to be able to play regularly.

“I wanted to leave to have more playing time. Now I have new challenges and the opportunity to continue to play” he said. The attacking midfielder also said he hopes not to face Barcelona because it is the club of his heart. Pedro played 128 La Liga games during his 8 years at Barcelona, and scored 59 goals.

Raheem Sterling might exploit the Blues’ lack of full-backs in the Man City vs Chelsea game on Sunday.

The two teams expected to be involved in a title race will meet on Sunday. The most waited game of the Premier League’s second round will be the Man City vs Chelsea clash. Chelsea news were dominated by Jose Mourinho’s row with team doctor Eva Caneiro. All this secured an opportunity for the Special One to avert the attention from his workshop. Somewhere in a dark room a master plan for the Man City vs Chelsea game was being drafted.

Since Chelsea has only one natural full-back, the Blues’ defence might need some tinkering. The lack of quick, mobile defenders might forecast a big game for the hosts’ attackers like Sergio Aguero or Raheem Sterling. However, fans of live sports results expect Mourinho to cope with the lack of speed in his defence through organization and team effort in the Man City vs Chelsea game. Man City are 2.05 (21/20) favourites according to Bet365. Draw is available at 3.40 (12/5), while Chelsea’s success is priced at 3.50 (5/2).

The Guardian.com: Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling: Chelsea meeting vital to title hopes

The Sky Blues’ marquee signing from the summer, Raheem Sterling thinks that the Man City vs Chelsea weekend match will be vital for their campaign. Manuel Pellegrini’s team had a promising start on Monday against West Bromwich Albion. However, they will play arguably their toughest game of the season on Sunday aganist Jose Mourinho’s side.

Sterling said, “I’m hoping this one will go our way and it’s vital that it does. We’re on our own ground and with it being our first home game of the season, we want to get off on the right foot. I’ve done alright against them in the past and results-wise, I think it’s been pretty even overall so far in the matches I’ve played in. Chelsea are very strong in every department from their defence and midfield to their attack, but it should be a good game and I’m really looking forward to playing in this match.”

Raheem Sterling about Man City vs Chelsea

The former Liverpool forward, who cost GBP 49 million, as it was all over in the sports scores news this summer, expects a close battle. Sterling doubts that any team could be able this term to wrap up the league as quickly as Chelsea did last season. He argued, “It’s going to be a really tough season. Everyone has strengthened their squads and the Premier League is always hard to second guess.”

Sterling admitted in the build-up to the Man City vs Chelsea match that he has set some targets for himself ahead of the campaign. However, he doesn’t want to make them public to avoid extra pressure. He said, “The only promise I will make is that I will try my best at all times – I will aim to create and score as many goals as I can for the team and work really hard every week.”

He added, “I’ve set myself targets for goals and assists and I know where I want to be but I don’t really want to reveal what they are because I’ll put myself under massive pressure – but I’ve got personal goals that I want to reach this season for City and hopefully I can meet them.” Sterling is 3.50 (5/2) to score anytime in the Man City vs Chelsea match at Bet365. An unlikely but fabulous Sterling brace is available at 19.00 (18/1).

ESPNFC.com: Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma happy to fill in at left-back

Apart from the suspended Thibaut Courtois, Jose Mourinho has a full squad before the Man City vs Chelsea clash, gambling news report. However, his squad is relatively short on defenders. To cope with the lightning-quick attackers of the Sky Bluese, the Portuguese might have to shuffle his cards a bit. Having only one true full-back, he might need to deploy Kurt Zouma in that position at some stage of the match.

Mourinho is without a natural left back after Brazilian Filipe Luis returned to Atletico Madrid. Hence his first choice number three is Cesar Azpilicueta, originally a right back. On the right side of the defense plays Branislav Ivanovic. The Serb is a natural central defender, but excelled at full-back in the past. However, he might have problems against an extremely rapid forward like Sterling. Therefore experts of gambling facts suggest a possible shake-up in the Blues’ backline before the Man City vs Chelsea match.

Zouma is originally a centre-back. However Mourinho used the Frenchman at right-back and at midfield as well already. In the Community Shield, he appeared as a left-back after replacing Azpilicueta. According to a possible scenario, Mourinho might field the more agile Spaniard on the right to deal with Sterling. So that Zouma could take his place on the left in the weekend’s Man City vs Chelsea game.

Zouma commented the speculations revealing, he doesn’t have a problem with the left back position. He said, “Because I’m right-footed I have never played at left-back. It was different for me positionally so I had to learn quickly and adapt to it. It’s really not a problem because the boss needed me in that position and I have to give everything for the team. We all have to think about the team first of all so I always do that.”

He added, “They were good experiences for me because I played the games and I always want to be on the pitch enjoying myself and helping the team. I’m feeling very well. I had some opportunities to play in preseason and play in some good games. Now the Premier League has started we are just focused on the next game. We are looking forward to it.”

He concluded, “It’s a chance early in the season to show why we are champions. We want to defend our title. The season after a very good season is always hard but we have to show we are ready to try and do it.” Sergio Aguero scoring two-goals against the makeshift, but capable Blues defense in the Man City vs Chelsea clash is available with odds of 6.5 (11/2) at Bet365. A clean sheet from the visitors is priced at 4.00 (3/1).

Chelsea Doctor Row: Mourinho the Bad Guy

Aug 13, 2015
Chelsea doctor harangued by Mourinho

Jose Mourinho was heavily criticized after the Portuguese manager threatened Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro with loosing her matchday job.

The controversy erupted after the Chelsea medical staff entered the field to treat Eden Hazard in the last minutes of Chelsea’s season opener against Swansea. Hazard had to leave the pitch due to the treatment. Since Thibaut Courtois was sent off earlier, Chelsea was left with eight outfield players temporarily. Mourinho argued that Hazard wasn’t injured, just needed a rest. He also mentioned that the medical staff have to understand football. The Special One planned to expel the Chelsea doctor from the bench for matches.

However, he was heavily attacked by other sport physicians. They insisted that Chelsea doctor Carneiro displayed a proper approach, since the medics were called from the pitch. The match ended 2-2. After the disappointing result gambling blogs speculated that it was nothing more than Mourinho’s frustration erupted. Maybe he also wanted to use the controversy to avoid his team’s display to be criticized. Gambling news reported that Chelsea’s odds to retain the Premier League title fell back slightly. Now they are top underdogs according to Bet365, available at 3.00 (2/1).

TheGuardian.com: Eva Carneiro: medics rally to demoted Chelsea doctor after Mourinho row

Major sports physicians defended Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro. Their support came after Jose Mourinho revealed that he intended to drop her from the matchday staff. Carneiro learned on Tuesday that she won’t be on the Chelsea bench at games anymore. The sanctioning came after he and team physio Jon Fearn entered the pitch to treat Eden Hazard in the last minutes of Chelsea’s weekend draw against Swansea.

Mourinho said after the final whistle, “I was unhappy with my medical staff. They were impulsive and naive. Whether you are a kit man, doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game.” However, there is video evidence that the referee called the Chelsea doctors after the Belgian player went down, seemingly injured.

Peter Brukner on Chelsea doctor case

Liverpool’s former doc Peter Brukner said Mourinho is unfair with Chelsea doctor (Photo: CricBuzz)

Recognized sports physician Peter Brukner was disappointed with Mourinho’s actions, online mobile news report. He said, “I thought it was appalling behaviour by the manager. He has a player who has gone down, who has remained down and the referee obviously considered it serious enough to summon on the doctor and the physio.”

He added, “They went on as they must do when they are summoned on and the player is down and, as a result, the player had to come off the ground. What do you expect the doctor to do? Just ignore the referee beckoning them on? The medical staff deserve a public apology and I’m very disappointed that the club hasn’t come out and done something to support them; they were just doing their job.”

Telegraph.co.uk: Eva Carneiro row: Premier League Doctors’ Group condemn Jose Mourinho over treatment of Chelsea doctor

Jose Mourinho criticized the Chelsea doctor for her actions in the title-holders’ draw against Swansea. That was followed by Eva Carneiro thanking the support of the public in a Facebook post. She wrote, “I would like to thank the general public for their overwhelming support. Really very much appreciated.”

Chelsea Doctor Eva Carneiro Facebook post

The Chelsea doctor thanked the support on her Facebook page

According to Chelsea players however, this post was the real reason behind Mourinho banning the Chelsea doctor from the bench, sports scores news report. The Premier League Doctors’ Group reacted in a statement when learning about the sanctions towards Caneiro. They are concerned that results are more important in football than the players’ health.

The statement said, “The Premier League Doctor’s Group considers that removing Dr Eva Carneiro from the Chelsea team bench for their next match is unjust in the extreme. In the publicised incident in last Saturday’s game against Swansea, the Chelsea medical staff were clearly summoned on to the field of play by the match referee to attend to a player. A refusal to run onto the pitch would have breached the duty of care required of the medical team to their patient.”

It went on, “It is a huge concern that Dr Carneiro has been subjected to unprecedented media scrutiny and a change in her professional role, merely because she adhered to her code of professional conduct and did her job properly. Dr Carneiro has universal and total support from her medical colleagues at the Premier League Doctors Group. It is also of great concern that at a time when the both the Premier League and the Premier League Doctors group are intensifying efforts to safeguard player welfare, the precedent set by this incident demonstrates that the medical care of players appears to be secondary to the result of the game.”

Wenger vs Mourinho: Arsene Finally Beats the Special One

Aug 02, 2015
Wenger vs Mourinho Frenchman finally wins

The French trainer finally got a win in the Wenger vs Mourinho feud (Reuters)

The Wenger vs Mourinho feud is not letting up.

The Community Shield is hardly more than a well-covered friendly. Many of those preparing for the game were the most excited about the meeting of Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho next to the sideline. Rather than the game itself.. Well, the two of them behaved well during the game this time. However, after the ceremony the Frenchman just avoided the Portuguese instead of shaking hands with him.

The Wenger vs Mourinho conflict is something that can add more spice to the Premier League title run. Especially if Arsenal, through performances like this one on Sunday, can produce a campaign that will see them fighting for the title.

EPLindex.com: 5 Things Arsenal fans can take away from the Community Shield

FA Cup winners Arsenal won the Community Shield against Premier League champions Chelsea, gambling news report. The beautiful goal of Alex Oxlade-Champerlain was the difference between the two sides on Sunday. It was the first time ever that the Wenger vs Mourinho duel was won by the Frenchman.

Arsenal started the way they were playing in recent weeks. They looked sharp at the beginning, as many of those who follow latest gambling news expected. However, as Chelsea, fighting for the equalizer, raised the pace of the game, they had to defend. The Gunners performed attractive attacking play that seems to work even against sides with the quality of the Blues.

Oxlade-Chamberlain had a convincing day, winning his overall battle against his marker, Cesar Azpilicueta. The whole Arsenal team was well-organized in defense, protecting the lead effectively. If they can do this against their biggest rivals in the league season, they might have a shot at the title.

ESPNFC.com: Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho’s mutual antipathy will continue

The Wenger vs Mourinho conflict continued on Sunday in the Community Shield match. This kind of hostile rivalry between title contenders is something that was missing from the English top-tier recently. Watching the game on Sunday suggest that the two will provide this, and Arsenal might have the potential to go for the title this year.

Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho just cannot stand each other it seems. When facing the other, they tend to behave childishly. That is a feature that appeared only in the last couple of years, though they met 14 times already. Yet this was the first occasion when the Frenchman was able to beat Mourinho’s Chelsea, as keen followers of live sports results probably know.

Arsenal now produced a performance that was similar to those that earned them a 2-0 away victory against then title-defenders Manchester City in February. That match indicated that the Gunners might become serious title challengers; however they weren’t able to maintain their form in the spring.

Telegraph.co.uk: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger snubbed him

In the latest episode of the Wenger vs Mourinho soap opera, the Frenchman refused to shake his rival’s hand at the end of the Community Shield game. Arsenal won 1-0against Chelsea, but after the match, winning manager Arsene Wenger ignored Jose Mourinho, and the Portuguese did not forget to mention that to online mobile news reporters.

The Special One congratulated all the Arsenal players after the ceremony, however Wenger just avoided Mourinho. The Chelsea manager said, “You only miss me if you want to miss me and every Arsenal player came in my direction, which was the easiest thing to do because I was just there.”
He added, “If other people didn’t come in my direction, that is not a problem, not a story and not the end of the world. I did my job, the job that my club deserves me to do and the status as a manager when I lose any trophy.”

Jose Mourinho to Find the Real Falcao

Jun 22, 2015
Radam Falcao may move to Chelsea

Radam Falcao may move to Chelsea

Radamel Falcao has an awful campaign behind him at Manchester United. That gig was the first for the Colombian after his serious injury that caused him to sit out the World Cup last summer. Many argue that he is no longer a world class striker, but some say that at least he deserves a chance at a team where he leads the attack and the others are there to supply him with chances. He failed to come up with a good performance in the first game of the Cafeteros at the Copa America, though it seems that this doesn’t bothers Mourinho. However, the fact that Chelsea preferred a loan deal to a permanent one is telling.

ESPNFC.com: Man City close on Raheem Sterling; Radamel Falcao agrees Chelsea move

As Raheem Sterling is very likely to leave Liverpool this summer with his agent stating that the 20-year-old will not consider any contract offers from his current employer, another Premier League forward is about to start the new season at a rival team, according to online mobile news.

After a poor season at Old Trafford, Radamel Falcao is going to move to Stamford Bridge. AS Monaco loaned him to Manchester United for the last season with an option to buy him permanently, however after the Colombian striker totaled only four league goals in 26 outings for the Red Devils, Louis van Gaal opted not to retain his services.
A former Van Gaal protégé, Jose Mourinho however is ready to give him a chance at Chelsea, especially after Diego Costa is reportedly on the way out. Though Monaco wanted to sell the striker for good, Mourinho would prefer another loan deal.

The Telegraph: Radamel Falcao: five reasons why he can be the best striker in the Premier League at Chelsea

Some might argue that to bring Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge is no better than playing online lottery gambling by Jose Mourinho. The Colombian spent a terrible 10-month-long loan spell at Old Trafford. Before that, he was rated as a world class striker and now he would not make for a decent one according to many of those who follow sports scores.

However, it is expected that he will come back way stronger at Chelsea, as Louis van Gaal’s United was never really set up in order to supply Falcao. The Colombian was basically a squad player at United, however he can function at his standards when he can act as the number one forward of the team.

Not to mention the second part of the season, when Van Gaal opted for a far more pragmatic approach and deployed Marouane Fellaini to help the attackers with his strength and height. Falcao was virtually redundant then, but Jose Mourinho is certainly the manager, who is able to bring out the best of his players. And at Chelsea, Falcao would play in front of Cesc Fabregas, which means that world class service is guaranteed.

The Guardian: Falcao flops as Colombia undone by spirited Venezuela

With his future being in the balance, Radamel Falcao started the Copa America with a very modest performance. Colombia obviously had the quality to approach their opening game at the tournament as favorites, but Venezuela, stunning many followers of live sports results, managed to beat the Cafeteros through work and discipline.

Venezuela caused an upset in their last Copa opener as well, denying Brazil from scoring. That side reached the semis, and with most of the players still being in the squad, they have the potential to surprise fans around the world again. In the meantime, Colombia coach Jose Pekerman has a huge problem, as it seems that Falcao, his former superstar is ceased to be a world class striker.

Jose Mourinho stated that he will find the world class in Falcao next season, however, Pekerman should either find it sooner or get rid of him and use Jackson Martinez instead, who was Colombia’s only promising footballer against Venezuela in the first match, despite playing only a few minutes.

Henry: Sterling to Destroy His Life and Career

May 22, 2015
Raheem Sterling

Older and wiser give their advice to Sterling

As the end of the footballing season in Europe is edging closer, more and more rumours are emerging from the press about clubs looking for players, players looking for clubs, possible deals and refused contract offers. Some footballers use the media in a way that upsets basically indifferent people, some of them are just disappointed with their situations and quietly counting their days until finally getting off from their current employers. Raheem Sterling’s future is the hottest topic around, but it is also interesting where the likes of Alex Song, Sami Khedira, Pedro and Radamel Falcao will end up before the start of the next season.

The Telegraph: Thierry Henry: Raheem Sterling risks destroying his life and career

Former Arsenal and Barcelona star Thierry Henry advised Raheem Sterling to stop his agent giving him bad advice that will lead to ruining his life and footballing career eventually. The football pundit is totally unhappy with the way Sterling’s camp handling the situation.
Sterling refused to sign the contract renewal he was offered by Liverpool previously, which was a 100,000 GBP per week bid, gambling news reported. A TV interview was set up for him, where he claimed it wasn’t about the money that he opted not to sign the paper.
Henry disagrees totally with that attitude. He said, “You can’t go out there and talk about your contract in the press. You have to respect your fans, respect the club that you play for. If you want to leave Liverpool or not, when you make the decision about leaving or staying, then do it. Don’t discuss yourself in the paper.”
Henry also added that when he was a young player, he had a similar problem with many of those surrounding him giving advices, influencing his footballing display in a bad way. He expressed, that, “you need to be able to say, ‘Enough, you’re destroying my life, you’re destroying my career.”

The Guardian: Football transfer rumours: Alex Song to Manchester City?

Alex Song, the Barcelona defensive midfielder loaned to West Ham is wanted by Chelsea and Manchester City. As he played for Arsenal for three seasons before his 21st birthday, he counts as a homegrown player in England, not to mention that he is a very good footballer indeed.
Barcelona stated before that they want to keep their unsettled forward, Pedro, however online mobile news reported that they will let him go in exchange for 7 million GBP. He only has one year left from his contract, and Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all could use him, and Liverpool was interested in signing him too.
Atletico Madrid could get back their former superstar striker Radamel Falcao. The Colombian player returns from loan to Monaco soon, after he did virtually nothing at Old Trafford this year. The Principality’s club allegedly plans to offer him plus cash worth of 25 million GBP in exchange for Mario Mandzikuc.

Worldsoccertalk.com: Juventus nearing agreement for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, says report

Juventus is about to recruit unhappy midfielder Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, latest gambling news report. The world champion German hardly got any playing time this season, and he has been looking for a place to go in a while. It was understood in November that the club chose not to renew his contract as the midfielder did not accept an offer earlier.
Khedira is allegedly lost his role in the dressing room recently, though he was a firm starter under Jose Mourinho. However, the German had several injuries, while Real Madrid strengthened their midfield unit significantly by acquiring the likes of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez.
Khedira expressed in March, that he would leave Madrid at the end of the season, and he allegedly decided to join Juventus. The Italians have to look for an industrious midfielder with Andrea Pirlo leaving this summer and the future of Paul Pogba hanging in the balance.

The New York Times: Chelsea’s Abramovich Wins Gambling Slur Damages

Russian businessman, Roman Abramovich, owner of London club Chelsea, won a public apology and substantial libel damages Thursday over false claims made in a newspaper that he had a serious gambling problem.

An Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, published an article alleging that Abramovich suffered a heavy poker loss and had been forced to give away a luxury yacht. The article also implied that Abramovich’s long-term partner Dasha Zhukova presented him with an ultimatum that he either give up poker or she would end their relationship. On top of all that it suggested Abramovich had been forced to liquidate assets to cover heavy gambling debts, according to John Kelly, Abramovich’s lawyer.

The newspaper’s publisher, Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso, has agreed to pay Abramovich “substantial damages” which he intends to donate to charity. The publisher’s lawyer, Sarah Toolan, said it offered its sincere apologies. “The defendant accepts that the allegations are untrue and ought never to have been published,” she said.

The Press Association: Abramovich wins pay-out over gambling claim

Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has accepted a public apology and substantial libel damages at the High Court over false newspaper allegations that he had a serious gambling problem. John Kelly, his solicitor, told a judge that the claims had caused the “internationally well-known” Russian businessman “distress and embarrassment”.

Legal action arose from allegations in the Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, in an article entitled “A black year for Abramovich as he loses a yacht at poker.”Mr. Kelly told Justice Eady that the paper’s publisher, Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso, had agreed to pay Mr Abramovich “substantial damages”, which will go to charity.

Kelly said: “Regrettably, these allegations were not put to Mr Abramovich or his representatives before publication. If they had been, the defendant would have been advised of the utter falsity of the allegations.”
Sarah Toolan, solicitor for the publisher, said the defendant “offers its sincere apologies to Mr Abramovich for the distress and embarrassment this article has caused”.
